Bike Rides & Events
We share information about shop rides and other community opportunities here. If you have bike-related rides or events to share, email Sarah at sarah@hammercycleswv.com
TUESDAY NIGHT WOMEN'S RIDE: Join Sarah and other local women for an introductory-level women's ride at the Greenbrier State Forest Tuesdays at 6:00 pm. This single-track ride includes instruction (if wanted) and encouragement in a low-pressure, women-only ride that's heavy on conversation and light on intimidation. Text Sarah at 304-646-5508 to see if the ride is on.
WEDNESDAY NIGHT SHOP RIDE: Join Max and other riders on Wednesday evenings at 6:00 pm for a trail ride. We start from various locations, so be sure to check in with the shop. The Wednesday Night Ride is a drop ride and is not recommended for beginners or kids. Call the shop at 304-661-3566 to make sure the ride is on.
THURSDAY NIGHT GVORBA SOCIAL RIDE: Join GVORBA every Thursday for a casual, community-focused social ride. Open to all ages and skill levels — from first-time riders to seasoned cyclists. We typically meet at Greenbrier State Forest at 6 PM, but check this page each week in case the location changes. No formal ride leader — just show up and connect with others. Routes available for all experience levels.
SUNDAY GRAVEL RIDE: A group of gravel enthusiasts organize periodic rides on Sunday afternoons. These rides are a great way to learn some of the lesser-known gravel routes in the area. These routes usually involve some road riding, too. Call the shop at 304-661-3566 or email Sarah at sarah@hammercycleswv.com to find out if a group ride is in the works this week.
